When to pass from conventional products to homemade natural products, you become disgusted by all the terrible ingredients in the products you used to love. Here you are today, you still have loads of stocks, and no wishes to rub chemicals on your face... What to do with it ? Recycle ! Think out of the box to find another use to them (or give them to your sister). Here are some example of how I recycled mine.
There you go ! Do you have any good tricks ? Let us know by commenting this article ! :) Et voilà ! Et vous, avez-vous des bonnes astuces ? Faites-les nous savoir en commentant cet article! :) kimgoesscrimping.weebly.com Starting with natural beauty ! It can seems hard and expensive, but really you have nothing to worry about. You gotta start small. I started by doing Olive oil hair baths and homemade lipstick. Here is some advice. Voici quelques conseils. 3 places where to buy your ingredients : 3 endroits pour acheter vos ingrédients : - Online : I order a lot of stuff online, mainly because it's easier and often cheaper. My personal favorite is the French website Aromazone. - In organic / natural shops : I shop at the local organic shop next to my parent's house in France when I am there or at Holland&Barrett in the UK/Ireland. Although, be careful, natural shops do not only sell organic products. Just remember the rule, wherever you are, always check the INCI list. - At the supermarket : and why not ? I mainly buy my oils from there, from the food aisle and not the beauty one (beauty oil will often have added perfumes and conservatives). Dunnes (Irish) have a great Coconut oil and Intermarché (French) have a large selection of oils such as avocado, hazelnut, grapeseed & many more (see picture). If i had to keep only one EO, this would be the one. I buy mine from Aromazone. - Aloe vera gel : again, amazing moisturising product for skin/hair, it can also help with sunburn. I buy mine at Holland&Barrett. J'achète le mien chez Holland&Barrett - A vegetal oil : I will say Coconut oil because it is an (almost) magical product for hair as it is the only oil which can penetrate the hair. Furthermore, Coconut oil has a dry quality which makes it nice to use on the skin without feeling greasy like a doughnut and it smells amazing. To know more about why I love Coconut oil, read my article about it. 3 tips to go further : 3 conseils pour aller plus loin : - There is a tresure in your kitchen : That's right ! You can find A-MA-ZING ingredients for your beauty routine in your kitchen : sugar, honey, vinegar, salt, olive oil, cocoa powder, veg, fruit... you name it and I can probably make a cosmetic out if it ! This is called cosmetofood : the use of food in cosmetics. Simple ! Facile ! - Sleeping beauty : one very easy free beauty tip is to sleep enough because your body regenerates during your sleep. 7 to 8 hours per night is recommended. - Interior beauty : One may spend hours and millions in applying luxurious creams on one's face, but if your diet is not good, you will never have perfect skin. Eat healthy, maybe organic, quit smoking, and if I wasn't living in Ireland I would add quit alcohol but saying such thing is a criminal offense for Irishmen. ;) Don't get me wrong, I am not telling to turn into an austere bunny but simply being a little more careful about eating healthy. > rencontrez mon petit lapin qui s'appelle Bellybutton :) kimgoesscrimping.weebly.com I had some UGG boots, that were in quite a bad state after a couple of years (damn you British weather !). Of course, I could have sold them on Ebay for 50 quids, because I have seen some in worst state than mine go for that price, but the idea of selling an article in a bad state annoys me. Anyway, I decided to find a way to recycle them, then it hit me : I am going to make some fluffy sheepskin insoles ! You can buy a pair of Sheepskin insole from the UGG website for 20€, here is how to have 3 pairs for free ! I started by cutting the boot to separate the sheepskin part and the sole. I will get rid of the latter. I then cut again on the seam/sewing which was at the back of my feet/leg to obtain this. I then used another pair of insole of mine to draw the shape - draw on the suede side. I managed to draw 3 insoles on each of the 2 boots, 3 lefts and 3 rights. Then it is cutting time ! It's a bit messing, but no worries. Here are my new pairs of sheepskin insole ! Yes, only 2 because I messed up somewhere and the 3rd pair is made of 2 left feet... --'
I have discovered that show today. It is about people scrimping, but the extreeeeeme way ! I found it interesting to watch, even though I would not go to those extremes. I like vouchers, but I won't eat food I can only get for free thanks to them. Only one episode is currently online on 4oD, in this episode, families save money by : - Vouchers vouchers vouchers, a mother (picture) takes care of her family as much as possible (and almost only) with free or reduced items thanks to supermarket offers and vouchers she collects everywhere. It is amazing how many stuff she got for free. - A man's meat come 99% of dead animals he collects from the sides of the roads - A couple have a bargain wedding at only £1,500 by doing everything themselves (DIY dress and decoration, homemade food, flowers from the supermarket rather than the flowers shop, alcohol free drinks, wedding on wednesday for cheaper location) - A family is scrimping thanks to online offers and constantly comparing prices on the internet kimgoesscrimping.weebly.com |
